Ode to Coffee!  By Diane Hein

A cup of hot java starts my day
It keeps me purring and on my way.

The alluring fragrance of this brew
Brings a mental dance with some soft shoe.

Coffee is a morning bolt and blast
We all want its roaring rev to last.

The brain works faster and fingers fly
We never want its spell to run dry!

Thought of the Day by Diane Hein

           Coffee alerts our senses,
one of our most prized possessions.

The name of this cat is Ernest, definitely looking for something to wake him up! I saw him walking on the side walk one Saturday morning.  I did try to photograph him on the grass but he was too smart for me to walk in the wet grass. So I was the one who got down on my knees in the wet grass to photograph him!  Now whoever said cats aren't smart!   His owner a few minutes later walked by and Ernest has a pal cat too, called Frank, a very black cat who was too frisky for me to photograph!   So Frank and Ernest are quite a pair!

To All House Cat Lovers by Diane Hein

Meows and purrs
the golden voice of The Cat.
Aloofness and affection
      the personality of The Cat.
Tamed and wild
     the nature of The Cat.

In Egyptian times
    cats were worshipped.
In modern times
    cats are loved.
The power of The Cat lives on!

Wisdom  by  Diane Hein

The wise cat
Sits and watches
Eyeing his prey
Knows the right moment
When to run and leap.

The wise pupil
Studies his subject
Learns it wells
Knows the right moment
When to use it.

Haiku by Diane Hein

A cat purrs
Meows, pounces
Then chases
An owner’s blues away.
