The Music in This Old
Oak by Diane Hein
I can hear the wind splashing
through the leaves
A charmed melody among the branches
Their magnificent arms catching every
breezy note
For in this old Baranoff oak,
Pinellas County’s oldest living tree
Of some 300 to 500 years of age,
Lays the merry music of a rich past
And we thank Safety Harbor who took steps
to
preserve it.
